The largest merger and acquisition (M&A) transaction in Latin America in 2022 was the acquisition of Grupo Aeromexico SAB de CV by a consortium of creditors, which was worth over 2.5 billion U.S. dollars. The second-largest deal was the acquisition of CSP-Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem by Arcelor Mittal SA, worth 2.2 billion dollars.
