Best-in-class investments (SRI) in Poland 2011-2017

The statistic shows the value of best-in-class investment strategy on Polish ethical funds market from 2011 to 2017. Investments in companies, that were leaders in meeting environmental, social and governance development criteria, amounted to approximately 13 million euros in 2011 and further to 2.7 billion euros in 2015.

The source adds further comments: "Due to European diversity, the wide definition of responsible investment is any type of investment process that combines investors’ financial objectives with their concerns about Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. Best-in-Class (positive screening) assets typically involve selecting the top share of companies within a sector using ESG criteria. For example, a portfolio manager might restrict the investable universe to the top 50 percent based on an ESG rating screen. Other Best-in-Class methods also exist (e.g. Best-in-Universe, Best-in-Effort)."
