With approximately 322 billion euros worth of investments, France was the largest market for financial decisions that favored companies, which were leaders in meeting environmental, social and governance criteria in that year.

"Best-in-Class (positive screening) assets typically involve selecting the top share of companies within a sector using ESG criteria. For example, a portfolio manager might restrict the investable universe to the top 50 percent based on an ESG rating screen. Other Best-in-Class methods also exist (e.g. Best-in-Universe, Best-in-Effort)
