In 2019, Europe was continent that generated the most e-waste per capita, at an average of 16.2 kilograms. This was slightly more per capita than produced in Oceania. Although Europe has the highest per capita rate, in terms of total e-waste generation Asia produces the most.

The majority of e-waste generated around the world is from small electronic equipment. This includes products such as vacuum cleaners, microwaves and cameras.
