Global e-waste generation by major country 2019

Globally, China is the largest producer of electronic waste worldwide, generating more than 10 million metric tons in 2019. This was approximately three million metric tons more than was produced in the United States. In the same year, Asia was the continent that generated the most e-waste, at almost 25 million metric tons. Of this, less than 12 percent was documented to be properly recycled. Around the world, millions of tons of e-waste is undocumented and likely ends up in landfills or is incinerated.
