In 2020, the domestic production of metals in Canada had a total value of 28.5 billion Canadian dollars, making it the largest category of minerals produced in the country based on value. The production of non-metals had a value of approximately 11.4 billion Canadian dollars in the same year, while coal production had the lowest value, at four billion Canadian dollars.
