Fatalities in traffic accidents in Denmark 2007-2017 The number of deaths in traffic accidents in Denmark peaked in 2007 and 2008 with 406 deaths but has decreased since then. In 2016, there were 211 traffic fatalities recorded, and in 2017 the number decreased to 175 registered fatalities. In this year, 36 Danes aged 75 years and older died in traffic accidents. In the age group 20 to 25 years, 25 fatalities were reported.
 Gender comparison 

  During the period from 2007 to 2017, significantly more men died in traffic accidents than the number of women who died in traffic. In 2017, 132 Danish men and 43 Danish women died in traffic accidents. In the neighboring country Sweden, the situation was similar. Also here, more men than women died in traffic accidents in recent years.    

Motor vehicle accidents

     In Denmark, the number of deaths caused by motor vehicles was very low in 2017 compared to previous years. During the time period from 2007 to 2017, it generally decreased from 368 fatal accidents to 182 deaths due to motor vehicle accidents.
