Between the turn of the century and 2006/07 the average household income showed year-on-year increases, but after this point income levels began to stagnate and even decline in some years. After 2013/14 average household income has grown at levels like those experienced between 2000/01 and 2006/07.
Full time earnings almost at 30 thousand
While the average annual household income has shown significant fluctuations since 2000, the median annual earnings for full-time employees has grown at a far steadier pace, increasing from 18.8 thousand in 2000, to 29.5 thousand in 2018. As an hourly wage this was around 14.31 pounds per hour for full-time employees and 9.36 pounds for part-time employees.

Millennials most effected by financial crash
Adjusted for inflation, adults in the United Kingdom earned approximately 3.2 percent less in 2017 than they did in 2008. For those aged 30 and 39 the drop in income was 7.2 percent overall, while those aged over 60 only experienced a loss of 0.7 percent of their income.
