Supplementary notes

The source states that "since the July 1, 2013 the maximum increase of housing rent is based on the household income of the tenant. There is a maximum base rent increase percentage for all independent housing, consisting of the inflation rate (CPI) of the year before, plus an additional 1.5 percent." Besides the base rate, the source says there is an additional income dependent percentage increase.

The source notes the maximum rent increase rates by income in 2016, are calculated as follows:
"Household income up until 34 678 euros: 0,6% + 1,5% = 2,1%
Household income from 34 678 euros, to 44 360 euros: 0,6% + 1,5% + 0,5% = 2,6%
Household income higher than € 44 360: 0,6% + 1,5% + 2,5% = 4,6%".
