This figure dropped down to 80,000 metric tons in 2009, as many of the world's economies went into recession, but a slow initial recovery in 2010, 2011 and 2012 was capped in 2013 with a production growth of 43,500 metric tons, bringing the year's production of aluminum castings to 148,000 metric tons.
