Number of new motor vehicle registrations in Japan 2013-2022
In 2022, approximately 4.2 million motor vehicles were newly registered in Japan, down from around 4.45 million new registrations in the previous year. New vehicle registrations include buses, trucks, and passenger cars, of which the latter represent the majority of new registrations in Japan.
