Average pre-berthing time at Kamarajar Port in India FY 2010-2019

In the financial year 2019, the average time before a cargo ship was berthed at the Kamarajar Port in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu stood at about 0.18 days. Among all the major ports, this port had the second-lowest pre-berthing time during that year. This waiting time was due to the port account. In simple terms, pre-berthing time is the time the ship or the vessel needed to wait before it could enter the berth. The port sector of the South Asian country handled over a billion metric tons of cargo in 2019. A major portion of this cargo was handled by the major ports.
