Volume of cargo on national waterway-1 in India FY 2012-2022
In financial year 2022, almost 11 million metric tons of cargo was transported on national waterway-1. In 2020, the cargo volume increased by over 25 percent, compared to the preceding year. This increase in traffic was due to the Indo-Bangladesh protocol route traffic. Majorly building material was transported using this route.
