Current accounts available with monthly fees United Kingdom (UK) 2012-2016, by fee This statistic illustrates the total number of personal current banking accounts with monthly fees on the market in the United Kingdom (UK) as of June 2016, broken down by type of current account. The largest number of available current account were standard accounts with no fee at that time. Although this was the case, it can be seen that both added value and premier current accounts were far more likely to contain some form of monthly fee, with the largest share of premier accounts having a monthly fee of more than 20 British pounds as of June 2016. Added value accounts fall into the category of package accounts, meaning a monthly fee is paid in exchange for a number of additional benefits compiled by the bank.
