Italy: perception of heterosexual public display of affection 2011, by macro-region
This chart shows the degree of acceptance of public display of affection in heterosexual couples among the Italian population in 2011, sorted by macro-region. According to this statistic, around six percent of Italians aged between 18 and 74 thought it unacceptable for a heterosexual couple to display affection in public. This view was more widespread in the South, Sicily and Sardinia, where it was shared by over seven percent of the population.
