Number of private equity deals in the Netherlands 2014-2019
Roughly 280 private equity deals were made in the Netherlands in 2019, a decrease from 2018. Activity on the private equity market in the Netherlands continued to decline with deals reaching a total value of 8.3 billion euros. Private equity is the OTC provision of equity capital through private or institutional investments with the participation of companies in another company for a limited time in order to generate financial benefits. In 2016, private equity investments in the Netherlands were worth approximately 0.04 percent of GDP.
