In Europe, the United Kingdom (UK) was by far the largest country for private equity add-on deals in Europe during 2019 in terms of volume. In the case of transaction value of add-on deals in 2019, Ireland showed the highest activity. In 2019, the value of add-on deals in Ireland amounted to of 76 billion euros. Add-on deals are when the buyer was a non-private equity firm but is owned by a private equity/venture capital firm. The UK had the highest number of add-on deals in Europe during 2019.
