
Mathematical provisions in life insurance and capitalization in France 2020, by group
The value of mathematical provisions, that is, the sum kept by the insurer in order to cover expected liabilities brought about by life assurance claims, reached over 260 billion euros for two insurance companies in France in 2020. In this manner, this figure amounted to around 267 billion euros for the CNP and 266.2 billion euros for the Crédit Agricole Assurances during that year.
