Number of properties sitting on real estate agents' books in the UK 2017, by region This statistic shows the impression of Chartered Surveyors on the number of properties sitting on real estate agents' books in the UK in 2017, by region. In the United Kingdom, numbers on the real estate market are provided once per year through the English Housing Survey, a continuous national survey commissioned by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). For a monthly overview, the UK Residential Market Survey from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is often used. In August 2017, the average number of homes for sale by each estate agent in England and Wales reached a number of 44. This indicates decreasing confidence in the housing market in the UK.
