Smokers in Denmark
According to an annually conducted survey, 22 percent of Danes were smokers in 2017. This includes daily smokers, weekly smokers as well as occasional smokers. In this year, smoking was generally more common among men than women; the share of male smokers amounted to 22 percent, while the share of female smokers was 21 percent.
Sales of cigarettes and cigars
In the ten-year period from 2011 to 2021, the sales volume of cigars and cigarettes in Denmark fluctuated. In 2014, it was highest, reaching 126 million units of cigarettes and cigar sold. By the end of this period, the sales volume amounted to 20 million units in Denmark.
