Incidence rate of absolute poverty in Italy 2008-2018, by age group

Between 2008 and 2018, the incidence rate of absolute poverty in Italy increased. In particular, the youngest population made up the largest percentage of people living in poverty. More specifically, the share of individuals aged up to 17 years went from 3.7 percent to 12.6 percent.
Figures about the poverty rate broken down by gender show that percentage of male population living in absolute poverty was slightly higher than the percentage of female population.
