The oil dependency rate on imports in Italy was 92.5 percent in 2020. This figure was among the the lowest in the period under consideration, down from over 96 percent in 2019. However, Italy was still heavily reliant on oil imports that year. The volume of crude oil imported to Italy was 57 million metric tons in 2021.
