Brazil: number of car thefts and break-ins 2013-2018

The number of car thefts and break-ins registered in Brazil has been oscillating throughout recent years. In 2018, almost 491 thousand vehicle thefts or break-ins were reported in the South America country, down from more than 551 thousand recorded during the previous year.

Still, car thefts and break-ins remain the most frequent types of violent crimes against property in Brazil.
