Theft rate in Italy 2011-2020

Between 2011 and 2020, the number of thefts in Italy experienced a decrease. More specifically, the amount of thefts went from 1.5 millions between August 2011 and July 2012 to 820 thousand recorded between August 2019 and July 2020.
According to data published by the Ministry of the Interior, the number of robberies dropped as well. However, property crime was the most common crime charged in Italy.
