Theft rate in Italy 2011-2019

Between 2011 and 2019, the number of thefts recorded in Italy decreased. More specifically, the amount of thefts went from 1.5 millions as of August 2011 to about one million in July 2019.
According to data published by the Ministry of the Interior, the number of robberies dropped as well. However, property crime was the most common crime charged in Italy. As of June 2019, 33.7 thousand prisoners were incarcerated for this crime.
