In 2019, the age group that invested the most money per capita in out-of-pocket healthcare spending in Italy was that of individuals older than 60 years. Members of this group, in fact, spent on average more than 1.3 thousand euros in healthcare. However, the age group that spent the most in supplementary healthcare insurance was that of individuals between 31 and 60 years of age, with 170 euros per capita over the period under consideration.
