Supplementary medical insurance coverage in Italy 2019, by health status
As of 2019, about 23 percent of the Italian population held a supplementary medical insurance. This statistic breaks this percentage according to individual health status. According to data, about 57 percent of Italians covered by supplementary medical insurance were healthy or mildly ill. By contrast, only one percent of insured under such schemes were non-self-sufficient.
