
Prevalence of hypercholesterolemia in Italy 2020-2021, by region
Between 2020 and 2021, about 18.7 percent of Italians aged between 18 and 69 years reported to suffer from hypercholesterolemia. This statistic highlights regional differences in this figure. As of the survey period, Sardinia and Veneto were the regions with the highest prevalence of hypercholesterolemia, with 30.5 and 25.7 percent of adults reporting to suffer from it, respectively. Apulia was the Italian region with the lowest figure of 9.3 percent.
