Ways of finding new TV shows and movies North America 2019-2020

The most common way in which Americans and Canadians discover new movies and TV shows is via commercials or ads which run during other shows, with 55.2 percent of respondents to a survey in the first quarter of 2020 saying that this was how they had found new content. Getting to know new content via news articles or word-of-mouth was less common in Q1 2020 than at the end of 2019, and social media is set to be a popular method of discovery, ranking far higher than banner ads or pay TV.
