In 2017, specialty, pay, pay-per-view (PPV) and video on demand (VOD) services generated 4.37 billion Canadian dollars in revenue. In the same year, revenue for private conventional television amounted to 1.61 billion Canadian dollars, and CBC conventional television made 994 million dollars.
