Amount of EV CO2 emissions in selected countries 2018

This data set illustrates average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions produced per mile by new electric vehicles (EVs) sold in selected countries worldwide in 2018, compared to the average amount of emissions produced by gasoline-powered vehicles. Electricity-propelled vehicles sold in China produced some 188.5 grams of CO2 emissions per mile, compared to only 2.7 grams per mile in France, where more than 70 percent of electricity is generated from nuclear power sources. Both figures are significantly lower than the almost 250 grams per mile produced by gasoline-powered vehicles.
