Perceptions on if pupil poverty has increased in England and Wales in 2019

This statistic shows the results of a survey which asked headteachers in England and Wales if they thought pupil poverty had increased in the years leading up to 2019. Of respondents, 71 percent said they had seen a rise in the number of pupils affected by poverty as well as an increase in the severity, with only 4 percent advising they had seen no change.

Have you seen an increase in the extent of pupil poverty over the past few years in terms of either the number of pupils affected, or a more severe level of disadvantage, or both?
