PrEP users in Brazil 2022, by age group
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a drug-based medical treatment for preventing HIV transmission. As of December 31, 2022, more than four in every ten users of PrEP in Brazil were between 30 and 39 years old, while nearly two out of ten users had between 40 and 49 years. Moreover, the country reporting the highest number of people living with HIV among selected nations in Latin America was Brazil in 2021.
