The HIV testing and treatment cascade summarizes the stages that a person with HIV goes through, from diagnosis to viral load suppression, and presents the share of HIV-positive patients included in each phase. In 2022, approximately 91 percent of people living with HIV in Brazil knew their status, while 74 percent were on antiretroviral therapy (ART). That same year, more than 730,000 people with HIV in the country received ART.
