Children in India

With its burgeoning population, India is also home to the largest child and adolescent populations in the world. A vast majority of children in the country are still deprived of their fundamental rights such as the right to education along with basic child protection and access to child development programs. This report highlights the current state of children in the country with a convergent focus on education. It also underscores key figures relative to health of children. In addition, it sheds light on the state of physical development of children through metrics such as nutrition and anemia and mortality rates. Further, the last chapter of this report also presents findings relative to crime and violence inflicted against children.
