Favorite types of meat for barbecuing in the United States 2017

For most U.S. respondents at the age of 18 and older, summer would not be complete without a barbecue. When it comes to the type of meat to be barbecued, 90% of the respondents prefer beef. Chicken ranks second with more than 80% of the respondents opting for this type of meat, followed by pork with 58%.

For the perfect taste almost as crucial as the choice of meat itself is its preparing: Different spices can be used to enhance flavor but none of them are as popular among U.S. respondents as spicy herbs. The major part of U.S. respondents prefers direct cooking as barbecue technique: It’s said to add a tender taste to the meat and when you throw cold beer in the mix, it makes a perfect summer afternoon.
