A public joint-stock company (PJSC) Rosneft was the leading oil producer in the Russia in 2019 with an output of 195.1 million metric tons. The second largest company in the industry was Lukoil, also a PJSC, whose oil production volume amounted to 82.1 million metric tons. Surgutneftegas, an open joint-stock company (OJSC), ranked third with an output of approximately 60.8 million metric tons.
