The survey results suggest that as of 2018, the vast majority of people in the Netherlands conflated human trafficking with the illegal transportation or accompaniment of people across borders. Approximately 85 percent saw illegal movement across borders as human trafficking, while just over 50 percent of the respondents identified organ trafficking as human trafficking.
