From the second quarter of 2017, Brazil was the country of those included in the chart with the highest unemployment rates. However, it has been decreasing constantly since the second quarter of 2021, reaching 6.9 percent in the first quarter of 2024. In the same quarter, Japan and Russia had the lowest unemployment rate of the countries included.

The definitions of unemployment, as well as the age groups included for calculations, differ between the countries included in this statistic. If the source distinguishes between adjusted and unadjusted values, seasonally adjusted figures have been used.
Despite being one of the most important emerging markets, values for India have not been included as monthly or quarterly unemployment rates are not available.
From Q1 2022, data for China are registered from a survey.
