The data is compiled from the national statistical offices of Germany, the United States, China, Japan, the euro area, Brazil, and Russia.

China reports its unemployment rate by quarter - for this statistic, the quarterly figures were transferred onto a monthly basis (e.g. the first quarter stands for January, February and March).

Due to different national publishing dates, the latest monthly figures could be missing for some countries. They will be added as soon as they are published.

The definition of unemployment and the depicted age groups can differ in the shown countries. If the source differentiates between seasonally adjusted and seasonally unadjusted figures, this statistic shows the seasonally adjusted figures.

For India, which belongs to the most important emerging countries, no monthly or quarterly unemployment rate was published.
