UK Prime Day 2019: most purchased products in the UK
On Amazon Prime Day 2019, the most purchased products on amazon.co.uk were Amazon's own devices. FireTV Stick 4K Ultra HD took the lead with 56.8 items sold. Following FireTV, Amazon's most popular smart speaker device Echo Dot (3rd gen) sold more than 80 thousand items in different color options. Leading purchases of Prime members in the UK on 2019 Prime Day were predominantly Amazon's own devices.
2019 has proved to be the most climactic of all Amazon Prime Days, at least since 2015 when Prime Day was first introduced to the world of online shoppers. On these two days dedicated to shopping at special prices, global Amazon sales reached 7.16 billion US dollars. Sales increase was the most staggering for large retailers, particularly on the second day of Prime shopping on Tuesday, July 16.
The United Kingdom is Amazon’s third biggest market after the United States and Germany. Since 2013, Amazon net sales in the UK have doubled, reached a reassuring 14.5 billion US dollars. In July 2019, total traffic to Amazon’s UK platform reached its peak volume of the last six months, and attracted an extra 40 million visitors compared to the previous month.
