Mexico: poverty rate 2018, by state

Chiapas was the state in Mexico with the highest average poverty rate in 2018. It was estimated that over three-quarters of the population in Chiapas lived in a situation of poverty. On the other hand, Nuevo León was the state with the lowest poverty rate, with 14.5 percent, well below the national average, which stood at almost 42 percent.
