Over the period from January 1 to December 30, 2022, the largest area burned by forest fires in Russia was recorded in the Khabarovsk Krai in the Far Eastern District, where wildfires swelled approximately 909 thousand hectares. In the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, more than 560 thousand hectares were burned over the same period.
