Distribution of topics in news media in Sweden 2018

In Sweden in 2018, the distribution of news topics varied according to the different news media. When looking at local news, nearly 25 percent of the news coverage consisted of topics related to crime. For regional news, this number only amounted to roughly 11 percent. Instead, more than 30 percent of regional news revolved around social topics. For both national and international news, politics was the most debated topic, at respectively 23.3 percent and 17.8 percent.
