Federal arrests of Central American citizens in the United States more than doubled in the fiscal year of 2018 from the previous year, with 39,858 arrests, compared to 15,309 arrests in the fiscal year of 2017. In comparison, there were 78,062 Mexicans and 70,542 U.S. citizens arrested by U.S. federal authorities in the fiscal year of 2018.
