Number of ransomware incidents reported to CyberSecurity Malaysia 2018 by variants
In 2018, according to the incidents reported to CyberSecurity Malaysia through MyCert, the ransomcare incidents involved different kind of variants, such as SamSam, dragon4444, spora and CRYPTED, with a total of 62 reports. The sources of incidents reported to MyCERT were coming from numerous parties from Malaysia as well as from outside Malaysia, which included home users, private sectors, government sectors, industries, cybersecurity organizations from abroad, cyber threat intelligence, foreign CERTs, Special Interest Groups, as well as their own pro-active monitoring.
