The number of partner banks which were facilitating payments through *99# in India stood at 83 as of JAnuary 2022. *99# is a USSD based mobile banking service of NPCI which was launched in November 2012, aiding the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. It allows customers to access financial, non-financial and value-added services by dialing the digits on their mobile phones.
