Natural gas import volume in Brazil 2010-2021, by type
In 2021, imports of natural gas in Brazil amounted to approximately 17 billion cubic meters, of which 7.4 billion cubic meters were in gaseous form, while another 9.6 billion cubic meters referred to liquefied natural gas (LNG). This was the highest overall import volume recorded in the country since 2015, despite a continuously increasing production of natural gas in Brazil. It was also the first time in the indicated period that LNG accounted for the largest share of imports.
