According to a survey in Malaysia conducted in December 2018, 58 percent of respondents did not agree with the view that food companies should not interfere in their diets by changing product formulation and recipes to make them healthier. Malaysia has one of the highest rates of obesity in Asia, and the government has taken measures to curb this problem such as introducing a sugar tax.
