Netherlands: characteristics associated with literature 2019

The vast majority of readers surveyed in the Netherlands as part of this survey indicated that when they thought of literature, they thought of beautiful or unusual language usage. Close to 80 percent of readers asked indicated that they associated striking or beautiful language with literature, while 60 percent associated literature with social relevance.
