According to a 2019 survey, the two most common reasons that K-12 teachers in the United States use digital learning tools is that they provide immediate and actionable data on students' progress, and that they allow for personalized instruction based on students' skill level. Both of these options were selected by 35 percent of respondents. The least popular reason was that they enable a higher degree of teacher control, with only three percent of respondents selecting this option.
